A sure way to create a lively debate among developers is bring up statically-typed vs. dynamically-typed languages. Few developers sit on the fence on this topic, but the truth is that both have advantages and dis-advantages. Ruby and Rails developers already know the benefits of a dynamically-typed language, but they also bump into the disadvantages. But, what if you could get all the benefits of a dynamically-typed language and many of the benefits of a statically-typed language without the overhead? Tools can and are bridging the gap and even bringing new ideas to the table for dynamic languages.
